Nigerian billionaire and owner of BUA group, the producer of BUA cement, Abdul Samad Rabiu has thrown his support behind the Super Eagles with a generous pledge of cash rewards following their impressive victory over Algeria in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
In a message posted on his official X account on Saturday evening, the founder of BUA Group congratulated the players for their brilliant performance that lifted the spirit of the entire nation.
He expressed pride in the team’s efforts and wished them continued success as they march toward the semi-finals.
To further motivate the squad, Rabiu announced substantial financial incentives tied to their progress in the tournament.
He pledged half a million US dollars to the players if they secure victory in the semi-final, along with an additional fifty thousand dollars for every goal scored in that match.
Should the Super Eagles go on to claim the title by winning the final, Rabiu committed to awarding the team one million US dollars, with an extra one hundred thousand dollars for each goal scored in the championship decider.
The industrialist, who also leads ASR Africa and serves as board chairman of BUA Foods Plc and BUA Cement Plc, described the gesture as a way to encourage the players to keep carrying Nigeria forward and making the country proud.
