Benibo Anabraba, Secretary to the Rivers State Government, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to sources familiar with the development.
Anabraba communicated his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, which was addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area. In the letter, he stated that his decision to leave the party was personal.
He also expressed appreciation to the PDP for the political opportunities and support he received during his period of membership.
This is coming following the resignation of the Deputy governor of the state from PDP.
