Chelsea Sack Enzo Maresca Amid Internal Tensions, Liam Rosenior Emerges as Leading Replacement

Chelsea has parted ways with head coach Enzo Maresca following reported tensions between the Italian tactician and senior officials of the Premier League club.

Maresca’s exit from Stamford Bridge comes amid growing disagreements over sporting direction and internal management, leading to a decision by the club’s hierarchy to seek a change in leadership.

Sources close to the development indicate that Chelsea has already begun the process of appointing a new manager, with Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior emerging as a leading contender for the role.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development in a post on his verified X handle, stating that the club intends to move swiftly.

“Chelsea will appoint a new manager very soon; it’s not going to take weeks or a long time. The club is now working on it,” Romano wrote.

He added that Rosenior is highly rated within Chelsea’s internal circles following what he described as an impressive spell with Strasbourg.

“Liam Rosenior, highly rated internally after an excellent job at Strasbourg, is among the contenders. The decision will be made in days; it won’t take long,” he said.
