In a move that shows the rising confidence and trust residents are placing in the Idris HK Foundation, the philanthropic arm led by businessman and community developer Idris Kashim Hussein popularly known as Idris HK has announced a collaborative partnership with a concerned indigene of Okpotume community in Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State, to deliver a much-needed borehole.
The partnership, initiated following an outreach by a dedicated community member seeking joint involvement, will see the borehole project co-funded equally by both the foundation and the community representative. This shared financial commitment reflects a model of collective responsibility aimed at ensuring long-term ownership, sustainability, and reliable access to clean, safe drinking water for the people of Okpotume.
The initiative comes amid the foundation’s expanding footprint in Kogi East and beyond, where Idris HK has earned widespread acclaim for swift, impactful interventions, ranging from commissioning multiple boreholes in areas like Idah, Igalamela, Imere, Amaka, and Ajaka; installing transformers and solar lights; controlling erosion in isolated communities; extending electricity; and clearing school fees for hundreds of students across Dekina, Omala, Ankpa, Ofu, and Olamaboro LGAs in recent months.
