Fubara Urges Newly Appointed Advisers to Strengthen Teamwork in Rivers Government

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged newly appointed Special Advisers to prepare for the task ahead, stating that their appointments are intended to strengthen teamwork within government and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of governance in the state.

The governor charged the appointees to remain committed to his administration’s vision of delivering effective, people-focused governance to the people of Rivers State.

Governor Fubara gave the charge on Friday, 2 January 2025, at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House in Port Harcourt, shortly after administering the oath of office to the advisers.

Those sworn in are Barrister Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Victor Ekaro and Dr Darlington Orji.

Speaking at the ceremony, the governor said the appointments were aimed at reinforcing the machinery of government to ensure continuity and efficiency in service delivery.

He noted that the advisers were familiar figures within the administration, having previously worked closely with the government, and said this would enable them to easily align with its philosophy and objectives.

Governor Fubara stressed that effective governance requires collective effort, discipline and a shared sense of responsibility, cautioning the advisers against complacency.

He described their roles as demanding, adding that the appointments were not ceremonial but an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to governance and public service.

The governor further reminded the appointees of the administration’s social contract with the people of Rivers State, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through hard work and dedication.
