The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has warned Nigerians that abortion is a criminal offence under Nigerian law, stressing that both the man and the woman involved are liable to prosecution.
In a social media post, SP Josephine Adeh cited Section 232 of the Penal Code and Section 228 of the Criminal Code, highlighting that participating in abortion is a felony. She also referenced Jeremiah 1:5, urging Nigerians to respect the sanctity of unborn life and act responsibly.
“Let us be guided by the law and moral responsibility,” SP Adeh wrote.
The post, has generated widespread online discussion, raising awareness about the legal and ethical responsibilities surrounding abortion in Nigeria.
