Member representing Ankpa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, has distributed multiple palliatives to thousands of his constituents in celebration of the ongoing Lent and Ramadan seasons.
The gesture, which included bags of rice, beans, cooking oil, sugar, and cash support, targeted vulnerable households, widows, orphans, and religious centres across Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro Local Government Areas.
The distribution exercise, expected to hold in several days in strategic locations within the constituency, was aimed at easing the economic burden on families observing the sacred periods of fasting and prayer. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, describing it as a demonstration of the lawmaker’s consistent commitment to the welfare of his people.
Speaking during one of the handover ceremonies, Rep Halims emphasised the importance of continuity in leadership at both national and state levels. He highlighted the achievements recorded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration in Kogi State, pointing to improvements in infrastructure, security, youth empowerment, and economic interventions as reasons to sustain the current trajectory.
The federal lawmaker urged his constituents and Nigerians at large to support the re-election bid of President Tinubu in 2027 and the continued leadership of Governor Ododo, describing their partnership as key to unlocking greater development for Kogi State and the nation. He noted that unity and support for progressive policies would ensure sustained gains in infrastructure, agriculture, education, and social welfare programmes.
The palliative distribution forms part of Rep Halims’ ongoing constituency engagement and empowerment initiatives, which have included scholarships, medical outreaches, boreholes, solar-powered streetlights, and youth skills programmes. The lawmaker reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people of Ankpa Federal Constituency with transparency, accountability, and compassion.
