ADC Chairman David Mark Urges Nigerians to Join Party’s Push for Better Nigeria

Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called on Nigerians to rally behind the party’s efforts to build a better and more inclusive nation.

In a New Year message issued on Thursday in Kano through his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Paul Mumeh, Senator Mark acknowledged that 2025 was a difficult year for many Nigerians, pointing to the rising cost of living, food items, essential medicines and transportation as major challenges faced by citizens.

He also criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government over what he described as the imposition of harsh taxes, warning that such policies could deepen public frustration and hopelessness.

The former Senate President said the ADC remained committed to patriotism, selfless service and the pursuit of people-centred governance, urging Nigerians to set aside doubts and join the party’s mission to reposition the country.

According to him, despite the economic hardship experienced in 2025, the year also marked a turning point with the unveiling of a broad opposition coalition under the ADC on July 2.

“Since the announcement of the coalition, we have been encouraged by the massive support and enthusiasm shown by ordinary Nigerians across the country,” Mark said.

He expressed confidence in the strength of the Nigerian people to drive positive change, stressing that although the party did not claim to be flawless, it was firmly committed to duty and determined to stand on what he called “the right side of history.”
